TEHRAN – Tehran’s provisional Friday Prayers Leader Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Movahedi Kermani blasted Washington for defying its undertakings under the 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and the world powers, stressing that the Iranian nation doesn’t trust the US at all.
Addressing a large and fervent congregation of the people on Tehran University campus on Friday, Ayatollah Movahedi Kermani said, “The people don’t trust the U.S. and its allies even an iota and they are well aware of the U.S. record of betrayal. As we see in the nuclear deal, the sanctions (against Iran) were due to be removed all together but they are increasing instead.”
He also warned Washington against any military aggression against Iran, stressing that the Iranian forces will leave no place safe for the U.S. if the latter embarks on hostile action against Tehran.
The cleric also congratulated the Iraqi nation and government, as well as the country’s religious leaders, over the liberation of Mosul from Daesh terrorists.
Ayatollah Movahhedi Kermani said that these victories carry the message that if the oppressed people stand to the oppressors, God will help them.
Over 1,000 Tekfiri terrorists were killed and tens of bomb-laden vehicles were destroyed in Mosul liberation operation, the Ayatollah said quoting Iraq’s Federal Police.
More than 28,000 Daesh forces were killed, 130 of which were top commanders, with 86 others being logistic commanders, Ayatollah Movahhedi Kermani said.
