 Iranian feature ‘Sunset Truck’ won best award at 2018 Golden Apricot International Film Festival in Yerevan, Armenia.

Co-written by Abolfazl Saffari and Sajjad Afsharian, ‘Sunset Truck’ has been chosen to be the recipient of the Best Script Award, the Hrant Matevosyan Award, at the festival.

The film narrates the story of a family who receive tourists at their living place which looks like a caravanserai. Once a music band arrives in their place and causes some unexpected troubles.

Pejman Bazeghi, Nader Fallah, Roshanak Gerami, Amir-Reza Vaziri, Khosrow Bamdad, Saman Saffari and Masoud Mehrgan are the cast members of the film.

Golden Apricot Yerevan International Film Festival was founded in 2004 with the co-operation of the “Golden Apricot” Fund for Cinema Development, the Armenian Association of Film Critics and Cinema Journalists.

Iranian director Asghar Farhadi presided over the jury of the official competition this year. He also received Parajanov’s Thaler, an honorary award for his outstanding artistic contribution to the world cinema.

‘Volcano’, a Ukraine-Germany co-production directed by Roman Bondarchuk, won the Golden Apricot for Best Film in the official competition.

The 2018 edition of the event was held on July 15, in Yerevan, Armenia.
