TEHRAN – In separate letters to the WHO director, health ministers of Islamic countries, and the UNICEF executive director, Iran’s health minister has warned about the ongoing humanitarian disaster in Yemen and called for a response from the international community against the tragedy.

Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi condemned the brutal murder of the defenseless Yemeni people, saying “The attack on students’ caravan in Yemen was a rare example of crimes against humanity,” according to the Health Ministry’s website.

Qazizadeh Hashemi emphasized that “one of the most important responsibilities of international organizations is to prevent the continued killing of innocent children anywhere in the world, and the silence of international bodies against such crimes is unacceptable.”
