Deputy Minister of Oil Hamid Reza Araqi put the daily export of gas to neighboring Turkey at 30 million cubic meter (mcm) and said, “under the contract, pertinent gas export income will be injected into the public treasury fund.”

Speaking in 4th “Sustainable Gas Production” Conference, he said, “gas bill subscription cut has reduced considerable subsidy of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC).”

Under such circumstances, undoubtedly, there would be no hope for the good services of the company, he said, adding, “according to statistics, it is predicted that gas production volume will hit 250 billion cubic meter in the current Iranian calendar year in 1397 (started March 21, 2018).”

The deputy minister put the current gas production volume in the country at 210 billion cubic meters.

Elsewhere in his remarks, chief executive of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) pointed to a gas dispute between Iran and Turkmenistan in the past year and added, “with the coordination made in this regard, Turkmenistan’s gas officials will come to Iran next month in order to settle the said dispute.”

Iran is mulling over gas swap deal from Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan, Araqi maintained.

Turning to Iran’s gas export situation to neighboring Turkey, he put the daily export of gas to this country at 30 million cubic meters and said, “under the deal, the gas money will be deposited into the public treasury fund according to the stipulated rules and regulations.”

In conclusion, Deputy Oil Minister Araqi said, “Islamic Republic of Iran has voiced its readiness to export gas to Iraqi Basra city provided that Iraqi side should settle its debt in this respect.”
