The Chairman of Iran’s Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission said Wed. that Russia and China can make up for Iran’s reduced economic ties with Europe.

“In a situation where European countries do not have much power to resist the United States’ pressures, our strategic allies can be very good economic partners for us in various fields of trade, oil, and so on under US sanctions,” Alaeddin Boroujerdi told Mehr News correspondent on a visit to his home town Boroujerd in Lorestan Province on Wednesday.

Saying that China has a large market, Boroujerdi added “the more European companies reduce their business activities in Iran, the more Russian and Chinese companies expand their relations with us.”

He further said that Iran has had important agreements to strengthen economic and trade relations with Russia over the past one to two years.
