Some 250.975 billion shares worth 723.329 trillion rials (about $17.222 billion) have been traded in Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) since the beginning of current Iranian calendar year (March 21), IRIB reported on Saturday.

As reported, the shares were traded through 14.137 million deals.

Some 164.388 billion shares were traded through 7.480 million deals in the first market and 248.182 billion shares were traded through 6.511 million deals in the second market since the year start.

TEDPIX (the main index of TSE) started with 96,290 points in the beginning of year and gaining 89,269 points it now stands at 185,559 points.

The first market index gained 68,124 points and the second market index rose 206,487 points.

Some 534 new trading codes have been issued for Iranian investors during the first half of the current calendar year (March 21-Septemebr 22), increasing the number of trading codes to 10.483 million in the stock market, Iranian Central Securities Depository and Settlement Funds Company (known as SAMAT) announced last week.

There are currently over 10.376 individual investors and 106,000 institutional investors in Iran’s stock exchange market.
