Iranian Minister of Defense Brigadier General Amir Hatami says that the current situation of Iran in the wake of US pullout from the nuclear deal can have benefits for the nation.

“The Iranian nation will transform the current situation of today into a stepping stone,” said Brigadier General Amir Hatami, Iranian Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistical Support.

The Iranian minister made the remarks referring to a new wave of anti-Iran sanctions to be reinstated in August by Trump administration. Brigadier General Hatami was addressing a meeting of the command center of the resistance economy committee in Zanjan on Saturday.

The nation has been going through the same situation during the last forty years, he said, voicing confidence that Iran would once again be able to overcome the US plots.

“The situation that the Iranian nation is facing today is very special and it is possible to take advantage of it with diligent management to turn it into an opportunity, although we do not believe that the threats should be ignored,” reiterated the Iranian minister.

He further stressed that the Iranian people have proved in the past their strong resistance against any outside pressure posed by elements dependent on east and west blocs.”
