TEHRAN – A 50-man economic delegation is due to arrive in Tehran on October 3 to expand economic ties.

Bulgarian Ambassador to Tehran Christo Polendakov in a meeting with deputy head of Iran’s Chamber of Commerce Mohammad Reza Karbasi said that the big Bulgarian trade delegation is to arrive in Iran on October 3.

He said the delegation will meet Iranian business activities. The diplomat said that the main approach of the delegation is to have joint investment cooperation with provincial chambers of commerce.

He reiterated that the Bulgarian delegation is to cooperate with different provinces in Iran.

Polendakov went on to say that Bulgarian Prime Minister emphasizes expansion of cooperation with Iran, adding that the delegation is comprised of representatives of different economic sectors of Bulgaria.

He noted that Bulgaria will take the presidency of the EU next year and it will be a good opportunity for Iranians to take advantage and to connect to 23 state members.

Karbasi, for his part, expressed hope that both sides would have good talks when the Bulgarian delegation visits Tehran.

He also said both sides should work on banking system and launching a joint council for transportation based on the agreement which had been signed years ago.

He also called for presenting new proposals for joint cooperation on projects by using the potentials of both states.

Polendakov has visited several tourism, agricultural, industrial and production projects of Iran and has met with a number of provincial officials recently to pave the way for Bulgarians to invest in Iran.

The joint forum between traders of Iran and Bulgaria is also scheduled to be held in Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture headquarters in Tehran on October 3.
